The National Accountability Bureau (NAB) is learnt to have initiated an investigation against former premier Nawaz Sharif in Chaudhry Sugar Mills case The NAB has sent a questionnaire to Nawaz in jail. The Kot Lakhpat jail superintendent received questionnaire from the NAB and handed it over to Nawaz Sharif, sources said, adding: "NAB has sought details of telegraphic transfer (TT) received from abroad in his account and details of his assets."

It may be noted that Maryam Nawaz is already in NAB custody in this case. Maryam was unable to provide the required details of foreign investment in sugar mills while she was also failed to satisfy the NAB team regarding source of income for purchasing the shares. Moreover, the NAB has also summoned the PML-N President Shahbaz Sharif in LWMC and assets beyond means cases on Friday. The NAB had already sent questionnaire to Shahbaz for providing necessary details.
